Unable to Demonstrate

Wow, I just got what I think is one of the most disappointing rejection letters ever. It was summed up with the line, “Specifically we needed a candidate with more Windows knowledge than you demonstrated.”

This really took the wind out of my sails today.

It’s really leaving me wondering what I should be doing with my life and whether or not I should continue in the tech industry. I don’t have enough linux experience knowledge to get a sysadmin job, and my windows experience knowledge isn’t good enough for a damn desktop support job.

I’ll be spending the next few days in limbo while I try to figure out what I want to do with myself.

Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!

Wow, that’s harsh, but at least they gave you a reason. More importantly, this one’s a single job. Let’s not take it as a final verdict on your abilities just yet. 🙂

    Check your e-mail.

I sent you a note but didn’t want it out here “in front of God and everyone.” (That’s a quote — wonder who said it first? I better check Google.)

    Love ya’

I think you sell yourself short on your linux skillset. While you may or may not have enough experience for a senior sysadmin position, I think you can definitely qualify for junior level sysadmin. Just think back to the mail server and backup server migration and maintenance stuff you did in your last job.
