Dammit, Facebook has stolen my desire to blog! So, for that matter, have Twitter and Google+. I don’t use the latter two nearly as much as the former, but the whole micro-blogging bit is just so darn convenient.
It has been a long year for me. I started cycling regularly in January of 2011. Then last November came along, complete with illness and cold weather, and general all-around laziness. It took me three months to really get back onto the bike again. I’ve still not been as active as I was last year. The last month has been really tough, with getting sick in the middle of the week and laid off that Friday. Between being sick and being depressed, I just haven’t felt much for riding this month.
That changed this week.
So far this week, I’ve ridden over 80 miles (145.8km – you do the math) this week (as of today), and will try to ride either Friday or Saturday, weather depending. Sunday, I’m going for a nice longish ride, regardless of the weather. If I can do 80 miles without much traffic, I will.
There are a lot of uncertainties in my future, but I can’t stop everything. I still have to make plans and get on with my life. I just have a new job — finding a job. It’s actually not a bad gig. I have the flexibility of being able to do what I want, when I want, so long as I make an effort each day to look for work.
It’s a good trade-off, and I can’t complain too much. The future looks good. I think this change is what I needed.
Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!
